The Flist: (food list)
Societi Bistro
(Kloof)
Can we say most delicious risotto & desserts & wine ever? Yes we can. Fancy, pricey (~R170 for a meal with a shared appetizer, small risotto, bottle of wine, and dessert), fabulous.
Sinn's Restaurant
(Wembley Sq)
Utterly sinful flavors - so bold, so intense, so delicious. You will forever regret your decision if you choose not to go here. So do yourself a favor and go. Winter special - R95 for an entree and wine. But don't forget to treat yourself to a dessert as well ~R40. Well worth it.
Eastern Bazaar
(City Center - Darling Street)
Completely relaxed and completely awesome. Curries, shwarmas, tandoori, samosas all for under R25. Don't mind if I do! Lunch break hotspot, go before 12 noon!
Beluga
(Waterfront)
Half priced sushis are a must must! The quality is good and there's a good variety. Sundays are half off cocktails as well. Order your drinks at the bar and get seated at a table to get your drinks for free. But you didn't hear it here...
Theo's
(Muille's Point)
Lunch special: 1 kg prawns for R99. Oh. My. God. The sauces are to die for. This is all you need to know - go now.
Crush
(City Center - off Green Market Square)
Healthy and delicious! Their bacon burger, soups, and Charmoula chicken sandwich are deelicious. Perfect drinks as well. Get a delightful meal for ~R50. Looking forward to lunch already.
Jardin
(City Center - Bree Street)
Regular meals here are fancy but decently good. Great service and awesome freshly baked bread. Go for the winter or seasonal special at R150 for a three course meal!
Arnold's
(Kloof)
Can we have a heart attack on a plate? Huge piles of meat - warthog ribs! Everything is big portions, scrumptiously big.
Taiwan City
(Canal Walk)
Surprisingly good Chinese good. And that's what I have to say about that. Get the Peking duck.
Mesopotamia
(City Center - Green Market Square)
Pricey for a casual lunch but I've never been disappointed with the taste of my food. Fresh pita, delicious sauces, mm baklava..
Dopple Zero
(City Center)
A classy yet relaxed place to eat. Extensive menu and generally good. Give it a go!
Royal Eatery
(City Center - Long Street)
Supposedly "best burger" in Cape Town. I say "most apathetic waitresses" in Cape Town. Plus I would take a Crush burger over a RE one any day. But, since their Vegetarian burger was pretty good I'll have to put it on the list. And I want one of their milkshakes.
Ocean Basket
(Kloof, Waterfront, Seapoint)
Cajun! Cajun! Cajun! Ask for their "special menu" for more options. Seafood for a good price - can't complain.
... to be continued soon!
